I ran this on AAPL, ES daily futures, and BTC 1H. The chart above shows a clean sweep example on ES — you can see the indicator marked a red box where price dipped below a prior low, then immediately reversed, with a green arrow signaling the sweep was complete.

Key Features That Set It Apart

• Sweep detection logic — Not just “price broke a level.” It looks for a specific candle structure: a strong move through a key level, followed by a close back inside the prior range. That’s the “sweep.” Many SMC indicators just paint zones; this one waits for confirmation.
• Multi-timeframe awareness — It can plot higher timeframe sweeps on your current chart. I found this useful on the 15M: it showed me a 1H sweep that was invisible on the lower timeframe.
• Alerts — You can set it to ping when a sweep completes. Saved me from staring at the chart.

• Sweep Sensitivity: Set to 70%. Lower than that and you get false sweeps inside range days.
• Minimum Sweep Distance: 0.5% on stocks, 0.25% on futures. Tighter and you catch micro-moves that don’t mean anything.
• Timeframe: Best on 15M–1H for intraday. On 5M, it triggers too often. On daily, it’s rare but powerful.
• Show Only Recent Sweeps: Check this. Older sweeps clutter the chart.

How to Use It for Entries and Exits

This is where the indicator shines if you’re disciplined.

Entry: Wait for the sweep to complete (green arrow). Then wait for a retest of the sweep zone. Do NOT enter on the arrow alone — that’s a common mistake. The arrow is just the alarm. The entry is on a second touch. For example, on ES, I waited for price to sweep below a prior low, arrow fires, then price came back to the zone and held. I entered on a 1M bullish engulfing.

Exit: The indicator doesn’t give targets. I use a 1.5x ATR stop below the sweep low. For profit targets, I use the next obvious liquidity zone above (prior high). If you’re trading sweeps, you’re trading into liquidity — don’t get greedy.

Stop Loss: Place it just below the sweep low (for long) or above the sweep high (for short). If the sweep was real, price should not revisit that level.

Pros:

• Clear visual signals — you can’t miss a sweep.
• Good for identifying reversal zones quickly.
• Alerts work reliably.
• Low false-signal rate when tuned properly.

Cons:

• No built-in target or stop logic. You need to overlay your own risk management.
• Win rate is low even in a good market. Psychologically tough.
• Can repaint slightly — the arrow may appear, then disappear if the candle closes differently. I confirmed this by watching live vs. historical. It’s minor, but worth noting.
• Not great for trend-following. It’s a counter-trend tool.

Who It’s Actually For

This is for traders who already understand liquidity grabs, stop hunts, and SMC. If you’re new to these concepts, this indicator will confuse you — you’ll take every arrow and get chopped up. If you know what a sweep looks like and just want a tool to spot them faster, this is solid.

It’s NOT for scalpers or anyone trading below 5M. Also not for buy-and-hold investors.

Better Alternatives

Does this indicator repaint?

Yes. I tested on BTC 1H and ETH 15M. Works fine, but crypto’s volatility means you get more false sweeps. Raise the minimum sweep distance to 0.5%.

What timeframes work best?
15M to 1H for intraday. 4H for swing. Lower than 5M is noise.

Do I need other indicators?
Yes. At minimum, a volume profile or ATR for stop placement. I also overlay a 200 EMA to avoid taking sweeps against the major trend.
